5.04.08. Thanks God, a donor kidney had been successfully transplanted to Alexander Gladkov! The operation, that all of us have been waiting impatiently for, took place on the 25th of March in Zaporoj'e. At the present moment Sasha remains in the hospital, but the next week he'll be transported to Kharkov' for further rehabilitation. He had complications after the operation, but it has nothing to do with the new kidney, thanks God! Now his state is stable, we hope no more complications will occur, the new kidney will be adjusted successfully and Sasha will recover. The kidney used to belong to Dmitry - let us remember him in our prayers, may he rest in piece. As regards the question of money the sponsors had transferred money for the operation to the Hospital's account. We're enormously grateful to them! Money donated by you, dear friends, helped Sasha to cover current expanses on transportation, food, auxiliary medicine, extra medical staff services, postoperative treatment etc. Now it’s about 500 euros left. Hopefully, the state will provide financial support for further medical treatment, but it cannot be guaranteed yet. So we ask everyone who’s able to help – not necessarily financially. An informational support will be useful as well. Even your letters, written from the bottom of your hearts, filled with warm and supporting words, will be of use. At the moment every little thing, like an emotional involvement, can be very important, because a single positive emotion helps Sasha to leave his dreadful illness to the past once and for all. A few months ago we’ve announced that finding sponsors gave a real chance to Alexander. Now he’s in one step from the final victory. There’s no doubt that things do not totally depend on us. We sincerely believe that by God’s will the new kidney will function well. Yet we’ve still got work to do, we can help in what does depend on us.      5.02.08. Sasha is in expectation of a phone call from the Hospital in Zaporoj’e as he’s already in a queue for a donor kidney. He’s preparing himself for the operation. Once a month he renews blood serum (runs blood tests) in the Hospital. At the present moment all funds are gathered. However the situation after the transplantation is hardly predictable. Thanks to all of you, who supported us! But it’s not yet the time to celebrate. We’ll certainly keep you informed about the news.

     4.11.07. Great news! Thanks God, at last Sasha's got a real opportunity to come back to normal, full, healthy life. Ukrainian sport stars - Sergei Bubka, Klichko brothers and Andrey Shevchenko - agreed to finance a kidney transplantation! Most likely it will be held in Ukraine (Zaporoj'e) as German doctors denied to perform an operation for less that 250 000 euro. Money, given by these generous worldwide known sportsmen, will be transferred by cashless payment to a hospital's account. During these few months Sasha, his friend and relatives were in search of benefactors, and now they at last can start the negotiations with the Ukrainian hospital! Our part is to cover all necessary expenses including transportation, extra medical staff services, postoperative medical rehabilitation. Thanks to Your help, a part of this money has already been gathered! We are sincerely grateful to all of You for this! But this is still not enough. The exact sum will leak out during the medical treatment, the approximate - before the operation. The exact date is not yet fixed. We will keep you informed. So, dear friends, again and again we seek help, appealing to You. We will certainly be grateful even for an informational support - the more people know about Sasha, the more possibilities to gather a sum he needs appear.      16.10.07. Those, who've made attempts to transfer money to the first (temporary) PayPal account (yavad@runners.ru) say that Russian accounts are not valid (at least for receiving money). In case Ukrainian ones have the same problem (including the new Sasha's account sng22@vk.kh.ua) than we'll do everything possible to provide another account for transfers, belonging to a person from a foreign country. If that will do, the owner of this account later could organize a transfer to Kharkov in some other way. If our fears will be proved to be true, we'll inform you about a new account here, on this site.
